"Family Day" Saturday at the Lansing Home and Garden Show
Back for its third year, Family Day has become a real hit! Kids, parents, and grandparents all love the special events and activities that make this popular show even more family-friendly.
“The Lansing Home and Garden Show has always been a great show for the whole family,” says Show Manager Carolyn Alt. “For years, we’ve made it a priority to have great things for kids at the Show. But having Family Day on Saturday is really special, and we’ve gotten tons of positive feedback from our patrons. It’s an exciting part of the show now that many people look forward to.”
Family Day activities and events include:
- Free Children’s Admission until Noon on Saturday!
- Make A Bouquet at 10:00 am with the Michigan Floral Association
- 10 Rules for Kids’ Rooms that Rule at 11:30 am on the Home Stage with interior designer Leslie Hart-Davidson
- Brownie “Sand Art” at 11:30 am the first 100 kids create an artful jar filled with all the dry ingredients to bake up a batch of brownies at home!
- Live Birds of Prey Show get close to owls, hawks, and more at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm on the Home Stage with Birdman Joe Rogers from the Wildlife Recovery Association.
- Home Depot Kids’ Workshops at 1 pm kids can participate in a building or painting project
- Fairy Tale Crafts at 2pm with Michigan Garden Clubs
- Characters and Mascots including Big Lug (Lansing Lugnuts), and more!
- Michigan 4-H Children's Garden Workshop at Noon kids can try planting a plant to start their own gardens and make recycled plant tags!
- Special Family Day Giveaway the first 100 kids entering the Show receive a free wildflower seed card to plant at home!
